Marina Abramović

Since the beginning of her career, in Belgrade in the early 1970s, Marina Abramović has explored the performing arts, giving life to some of her most iconic works. Exploring her physical and psychological limitations, Abramović resisted pain, exhaustion, and danger in his search for an emotional and spiritual transformation of her. Among the many awards received, it should be remembered the Golden Lion for Best Artist at the Venice Biennale in 1997. In 2010, on the occasion of his first major retrospective in the USA, the artist staged a monumental performance at the MoMA in New York, entitled 'The Artist is Present', which took her over 700 hours. The Marina Abramović Institute (MAI), which she founded, aims to connect artists from all disciplines to create new forms of dialogue and unpublished contents.
