On Saturday, April 15th join Academy Award-winning cinematographer Sir Roger Deakins for a book signing for Byways (12-4 pm) and Q&A reception (5-7 pm) at the Mecklenburg Country Club in Chase City, Virginia. Roger, alongside his wife and collaborator, James Deakins will be sharing stories and insight about their experience in the film industry in an engaging Q&A, which will be moderated by Beverly Wood, whom the Deakins worked with for over 30 years on various films.
Ticket options: full ticket ($80) provides access to the Q&A and includes an autographed copy of Byways ; reduced ticket ($25) provide access to the Q&A reception only.
If you already have a copy of his book, you can attend the book signing to have it autographed.
Proceeds will benefit Save Our Heritage, a nonprofit organization focused on historic preservation-based in Chase City, Virginia that is working to restore the Mecca Theatre. Wood is retired and lives in her hometown, Chase City, and leads the restoration efforts.
