From Wednesday, October 11, 2023 to Sunday, January 7, 2024 teh London based Hayward Gallery will exhibit the largest survey to date of Hiroshi Sugimoto. Featuring key works from all of the artist’s major photographic series, this survey highlights Sugimoto’s philosophical yet playful inquiry into our understanding of time and memory, and photography’s ability to both document and invent. The exhibition also includes lesser-known works that reveal the artist’s interest in the history of photography, as well as in mathematics and optical sciences. The Hiroshi Sugimoto Collection, the complete series of the 5 books published by Damiani between 2014 and 2019 about the series Dioramas, Seascapes, Theaters, Portraits e Architecture, will be available at the Gallery's shop.
